Will write more later.  We are still in hospital and I have Rachel in one hand and typing with the other hand.  She was 8 lbs. 10.6 oz. 21 inches long...a BIG baby!  Labor & delivery MUCH better than with Logan...more later.  Here are pictures:

Baby Girl on the Way!!!!!

OUR BABY GIRL IS COMING TOMORROW February 26, 2009!!!

My doctor has scheduled me to come in at 6am to be induced tomorrow!  We are so excited!!!  I have been having contractions for the past few hours that are getting a little more intense, so it is possible I may end up at the hospital before 6am.  Either way, should make tomorrow go smoother and faster than the last time I was delivering a baby!

Logan will be taken care of by Steve, Dre, Alisha, and DJ who are not only good friends here in Tucson, but also our staff team!  He loves them and they are basically his family here, so I know he'll be in good hands.  Pray for them though as he is a bundle of energy and when they are around he thinks that it is play time non-stop!

The next time I post I'll let you know the name of our sweet little girl...and I'll post pictures!  Thanks for your friendship and prayers!

Sleepless night & trip to the hospital

Last night was "interesting".  All day yesterday I had pain/pressure in my lower abdomen, with an occasional contraction.  Had a few more contractions around 10-11 pm.  Then, when I went to bed around midnight it hurt to lay down.  I did anyway, but had consistent contractions for 2 hours (not terribly painful, more annoying...but it was painful laying down).

Finally, got up around 2 am and sat in my rocker and watched TV.  Started timing contractions around 2:30 and for an hour they were consistently 5-6 minutes apart.  So, I remained calm (eerily calm to tell you the truth) and decided I would take a shower and get ready for the hospital if it came to that (plus I couldn't sleep anyway).

Around 5 am I was still having contractions and didn't know if my water had broken so we called our friends to come over (can't forget to have Logan taken care of) and took off for the hospital.  My water was not broken and my contractions weren't consistent or close enough to stay at the hospital, so we got home about 7 am.

Thankfully my contractions have calmed down a bit today (as long as I am sitting or laying down and not moving) so I have been able to rest.  I did have my weekly doctor's appointment late morning and she said that my contractions could start up again and the baby be here soon, or not for a few days, or they could stop for awhile and not come back for a few weeks.

We know that this is all in God's timing, but it is sure hard not knowing when everything is going down!  I wonder if we'll have another baby born on the 14th (Valentine's Day is in 2 days) or if she'll wait until my Grandma's birthday (the 21st) or my dad's (the 22nd) or pick her own day?  I just hope (mainly for our friend's sake who come over to take care of Logan, and for Chris too) that I don't have to take a trip to the hospital in the middle of the night again!

Any day...or maybe a month

Above are a few pics of baby's room: the "changing table" was once our kitchen island, then was in Logan's room for a changing table, and recently I fixed up the drawers with some fancy paper and mod podge so it is girly; finished the quilt (pics in last post) and sewed matching curtains; and the students finished the amazing artwork!

This Wednesday (in 2 days) I will be 37 weeks!!!  It is crazy to think that Logan was already born at this point.  Needless to say, I am feeling the "time crunch".  Last pregnancy I was praying "Lord, if it is your will please let this baby come early b/c I can't imagine getting any bigger".  Ha!  This time I am praying "Lord, if it is your will please let this little girl wait until at least the 16th so that my doctor will be back in town and so I can enjoy fondue on Valentine's Day".

The good news (well, besides the fact that we're having another baby!) is that at my doctor's appointment I found out I am already beginning to dilate!  Praise Jesus!  Last time my water broke before any contractions had started...which I found out recently, is the longest and usually hardest labor.  Glad I didn't know that when I was in labor, perhaps I would have panicked?  I am also having contractions on and off (and have for a few days).  I do realize this could continue for weeks.

This time I do have bags already packed (hair-bands included since I didn't even pack that much last time), and we have a plan for friends coming over to watch Logan (which is a huge blessing since we don't have family nearby this time).  There are still a lot of little things I would like to get done before she gets here, but if she comes I think we are ready enough (as ready as you ever are to bring home another child).

The biggest thing we are praying for and "waiting" on God's timing is getting a bigger car.  The biggest reason we are waiting is we are trying/needing to sell Chris' car.  We should be able to get a decent amount of money out of it b/c it is in great condition, has never been in an accident, etc...but we don't want to move forward until it is sold.  So, if you remember and have time we'd love your prayers that his car would sell, and it would sell soon!

Hope you enjoy the pics of her mostly finished room!  And if I don't post until after I have her, then the next post will have pictures of our little girl...and yes, then I will tell you all her name!
