Happy New Year

We survived another holiday season and enjoyed all the family and friends we got to see.  Chris' family came for Christmas and we had a great time relaxing with them.  It is hard to be so far away from all our family, so we really cherish the times we can get together.

We spent the days following Christmas at our Winter Conference in San Diego.  The weather was beautiful, and even though it was "work" we got to see a lot of our staff friends that are all over the Pacific Southwest.  As a mom with a young child, I don't get to participate in as much so that Logan can get in naps and go to bed at a reasonable time.  However, I was blessed to be next door to one of my good friends.  After we put our kids to bed at night she would come over and we'd whisper and watch tv on low.  Robyn is a huge blessing in my life.  We met last summer on project in Santa Monica, and we'll be spending this summer together in Colorado!

On New Year's Eve we were able to visit with my little (I mean younger) brother who was traveling from Mexico to Lake Tahoe, and happened to be stopping in San Diego.  We were all set to rest that afternoon after seeing him, but our plans changed.  Logan hit his head on some bricks outside our hotel room and the cut was deep enough we knew he needed stitches.  So, Chris, Logan and I spent about five hours in the Emergency Room so Logan could get stitches.  The little guy was such a trooper considering he had no nap and had to "wait" for a long time.  We all survived, with a few tears...but Logan did get 2 stuffed animals (this particular hospital doesn't see kids very often) and our nurses and doctor were excellent. Logan was great about not pulling off his face stickers (aka: bandaids), and he only has a small scar above his eyebrow.
I think the three of us were all in bed around 9:30 on New Year's Eve night, and didn't hear the celebrations at midnight.  Happy New Year!  Ha!

When we got home, my good friend Jessie was able to visit for a few days.  Not only was it great to spend time with her, but it was so helpful having another pair of hands (and energy) to help with Logan!  We took Logan to the zoo and then mostly relaxed, but did enjoy a few card games at night with Chris.

School starts today so we are ready to go full speed ahead!  In the meantime we are also trying to finish up stuff for the baby girl's room.  As soon as that gets done I will post some pictures!

Hope you and your family had a safe and healthy New Year!
